The Insurance Institute of America and the American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriters have designed a number of programs in the property-casualty insurance field. Each program differs in content, emphasis, and degree of difficulty. If you would like guidance in selecting the program and course that is best for you, the librarians will be happy to provide you with preliminary help. If follow-up is required, we will supply you with a "Self-Inventory for Prospective IIA/CPCU Students" form. If you complete that form and return it to the institutes you can expect to receive further guidance.

Some companies and firms have made arrangements with the Insurance Library and are billed for their employees' tuition and texts. If this is not the case with your employer, texts and a non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 (applicable towards tuition) must be paid for when texts are picked up. Tuition must be paid in full by the first class. We can accept cash, checks, Visa & MasterCard.

PLEASE TRY TO REGISTER EARLY AS CLASS SPACES ARE LIMITED--WE HATE TO TURN PEOPLE AWAY!

You should plan to pick up your texts before your first class session. The instructors will expect that you have done so and will structure their first class session accordingly.

If you should decide for any reason that you must withdraw from a class, you must notify us in writing immediately. This will be the only way to assure you the appropriate refund, and also may help someone else get into a class--we often have waiting lists in case a class spot opens up. Please note that simple non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal from a class--you must notify us in writing.

Credits will be allowed on the following basis:

Notice of withdrawal after 1st class     100% Less the $25.00 registration fee

Notice of withdrawal after 2nd class     75% Less the $25.00 registration fee

Notice of withdrawal after 3rd class     no credit or refund

One & Two & Three Day Seminars as well as Licensing Courses:

Notice of withdrawal 3 days prior to class  100% Less the $25.00 registration fee

Notice of withdrawal less than 3 days prior to class     no credit or refund

In order for us to take texts back for refund they must be unmarked.

 ********** IMPORTANT **********

  • Continuing education classroom hours are only for Massachusetts. Credits for attending classes and credits for passing national examinations are not cumulative--you may use EITHER the class credits OR the credits earned by passing an examination in any one license renewal period
  • If you want your texts shipped to you, there will be an additional $7.00 charge.
