CPCU,
CLU,
CIC,
AAI,
LIA
Bill’s contributions, both to the insurance community and to the larger
community, have been exemplary. After completing his education at the
Lawrenceville School, Boston University, and Suffolk University, he worked in
successively responsible positions in the insurance industry and now is
Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the Provider Insurance Group, Inc. of
Belmont, Massachusetts.
In 1978, he became a member of the Board of Directors of what was then the
Independent Insurance Agents of Massachusetts–he served as President of that
association in 1987. Bill’s efforts on behalf of independent agents continued as
he became increasingly active in the affairs of the Independent Insurance Agents
of America. His extraordinary talents, skills, and commitment to the “Big I”
were recognized as he was elected Vice President in 1998, President-Elect in
1999, and President in 2000.
Bill’s association work is complemented by community involvement, including
active participation in Belmont’s Religious Council, Red Cross, Chamber of
Commerce, Boosters Club, Youth Soccer and Basketball programs, Town Meeting,
Warrant Committee, and Board of Registrars of Voters. He is also a member of the
Belmont Town and Massachusetts state Republican Committees.
Bill was selected to receive this award in recognition of the outstanding
services he has provided in promoting the interest of the public and the
insurance profession.
